Lake St Louis

In 1966, investors envisioned a planned private community of second homes, centered around a lake where families could spend their summers enjoying lake activities, and parents could commute on weekends from their primary residence. A Community Association managed the community until 1975, when it was incorporated as Harbor Town (the name was changed to Lake St Louis in 1977). Slowly the area added a golf course, country club, and other amenities as the area grew. Because of it’s initial structure, however, only some sections of the City of Lake St Louis, those within the operating boundaries of the Lake St Louis Community Association, have full access to all of the Lake St Louis Community Association amenities.  This results, in anyone moving to the area, needing to check whether they will have “lake access” and use of the other Lake St Louis Community Association amenities or not before signing a contract for a home.

The Lake St Louis Community Association manages a year round resort lifestyle for over 8,600 residents. It has a 18,000 sq ft Clubhouse with a restaurant and bar, a 9 hole golf course, 4 tennis courts, a beach area, multiple swimming pools, 2 lakes Lake St Louis is 625 acres while Lake Sainte Louise is an 85 acre lake) with marinas plus docks for 242 boats, fishing, boating, skiing and kayaking. They have trails, a fitness center and much more.  Whether you are seeking an active lifestyle or just want to laze around water, the Lake St Louis Community Association area is a wonderful place to be.  There are both condos and single family homes within their area.

The areas that fall within the Community Association’s purview are part of the City of Lake St Louis as are the areas that are not within the Community Association’s boundaries.  Because of it’s size and proximity to Wentzville, Lake St Louis has partnered with Wentzville on many of the community resources available to residents, such as the Wentzville Renaud Center with it’s Aquatic Complex, Fitness Center, Track, Aerobics Studio and classes.  The Wentzville School District services the Lake St Louis area.
