Town and County

Originally called Altheim, Town and Country originated as an area where the wealthy residents of St Louis City had second homes that they would send their families to for the summer away from the oppressive heat and pestilence of the city.  Now it is a fabulous community that focuses on being environmentally friendly with many green spaces and parks off setting the commercial areas.  Among the many parks in the area are Longview Farm Park and House with walking trails and an art gallery, Drace Park with 3 log cabins, and Preservation ParkQueeny Park (a St Louis County Facility) is adjacent to Town and Country has a wonderful playground, trails, an ice hockey arena and an auditorium space that holds juried art shows, high school graduations, the annual science fair and other programs.  Queeny Park does allow horseback riding on the premises.

AAA rated Parkway School District manages the public schools for Town and Country.
